According to driven power, construction winch mainly includes two types, hydraulic winch and electric winch. Both of two winches are powerful and durable. They have compact structure, easy operation, complete safety protection device and wide application. Which one is more suitable? It depends on practical conditions and needs. Before purchasing, learn details about two types of winches.
Hydraulic winch
Hydraulic winch is commonly used for heavy duty work. With hydraulic winch, you will never worry about problems such as overheating or structural damage. Hydraulic winch has stable performance and can improve working condition. The winch is designed and tested for the very toughest applications, meeting national military standard. It is good choice for places where the electricity is not available.
Aicrane Hydraulic Winch
Loading capacity: 0.5~100t;
Wire rope capacity: 20~5000 m;
Working speed: 5~20 m/min;
Power supply: 220-690V,50/60HZ,3Phase
Electric winch
Electric winch adopts the electricity for work. With lightweight and small design, electrical winch is widely used for industrial work in factory, warehouse, material plant, construction site, workshop. Electric winches may be lightweight but they offer great value in their reliability and quality. As they are smaller, our electric winches are specifically designed to handle lighter loads. The compact and easy to use nature of an electric winch like this make them excellent and versatile utility winches when you’re on the go-ideal for pulling trailers and other light duties.

Hydraulic Winch VS Electric Winch
The following factors should be considered when purchasing a winch:
What will power the winch?
How will the winch be used?
How tough is the job?
How long will the winch need to perform work?

Power supply: 220-690V,50/60HZ,3Phase;
Power source
An electric winch typically uses electricity in order to power the winch’s motor. Electric winches are the right choice for quick, occasional, and light use, as they do not require as much in the way of power.
A hydraulic winch is powered by a hydraulic system. A hydraulic pump is required to operate the winch, but the efficiency of a hydraulic winch, however, is unmatched in power and durability. A hydraulic winch is built to withstand a big job, with the power to handle it effectively.
Convenient use
One of the main advantages of an electric winch is that it is often easier to install. If there is a need to transfer the winch from one place to another place, one must simply re-install only the winch. It can be fast and efficient, and has enough power.
Most any other big job is going to require a hydraulic winch, offering heavy duty capability and raw durability. The installation of a hydraulic winch will require more components to power it, but you cannot put a price on the efficiency and strength gained.
Cost
Hydraulic winch needs additional equipment, such as hydraulic motor, pipe, fittings and other components, it costs more than electric winch. If you need a consistent, long-term and hard-use winch, then you should consider the hydraulic type of winch.
Electric winch needs minimal maintenance work while the hydraulic winches require more maintenance care. Electric winch will provide different ranges for pulling capacity.
The hydraulic winch does not use the electrical power and thus can provide a full and constant performance throughout the job. When you are on a rescue mission, then it is recommended to use this type of winch because it is tougher and reliable compared to an electric winch. It works slower than the electric winch though and needs a running engine to stay in working condition.
